Over the last two years I’ve had time to reflect on players from the past who, for one reason or another, never got Grogged or in my own opinion needed an update. One of those players was Colin Charvis. Colin had been “Grogged” in 1999 as one of “Henry’s Heroes” when we made the whole team which defeated England at Wembley in such dramatic fashion. As our collectors know that set was in the smaller mini size and there were plans to make a larger limited edition of the charismatic Wales back row forward. Unfortunately, an infamous loss to Italy and the backlash that followed took that decision out of my hands. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then and making a large figure of Colin was something that had always been on my mind. I’m finally delighted to have put that wrong right as Colin Charvis’ outstanding record as a player for Wales and the British Lions speaks for itself.

An inscription on the back of the base of this new limited edition commemorates his try scoring record of 22 tries for a Welsh forward, which still stands today.
